10/25/11 On Thursday, October 20th at approximately 7:00pm, Patrolman Nick Laffoon of the Marshall County Police Department performed a traffic stop at the intersection of US 30, just west of Queen Road for a vehicle with an equipment violation.  During the stop it was learned that the offender, later identified as 21 year old Savannah Beeks of Wabash had been driving the vehicle with a suspended license.  Beeks was taken into custody and was transported to the Marshall County Jail.  She was charged with Driving While Suspended with a Prior charge.    A $750.00 cash bond was set for her release, which was paid on the same date at 11:10pm.  Beeks is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on November 15th at 8:30am.   Marshall County Police were assisted by Plymouth Police Officer Shanna Gilmer and K-9 Officer John Weir at the scene of the traffic stop. 

On Saturday, October 22nd at approximately 3:30 a.m.  County Officer Travis O’Neal conducted a traffic stop on 15th Road, just west of Upas Road for a traffic infraction.  During the stop O’Neal detected an odor of alcohol on the drivers breathe.  The driver later identified as 50 year old Douglas W. Bernardt of Culver, failed a field sobriety test at the scene and was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Plymouth for a certified blood test.  After the testing it was determined that Mr. Bernhardt had tested over the legal limit of .08%.  He was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in with a $1000.00 cash bond, which was paid on October 22nd at 5:35pm.  He has a scheduled court appearance in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on November 1st at 8:30am. 

On Sunday, October 23rd around 3:20pm, a resident in the 18000 block of 5th Road called County Police to report someone had entered her house and stole a television.  The TV was described as a 37 to 42 inch LCD HD Sanyo.  The house was unlocked at the time.  The homeowners believe that the only time the house was unoccupied was between 12:30 and 1:30pm.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Marshall County Police Department at 574-936-3187.
