06/03/11  Residents of Miller’s Senior Living Community have been busy with creating fun projects the past few days.  They were given some fresh rhubarb by a volunteer and they found a recipe for easy rhubarb freezer jam.  Several of the ladies gathered in the Recreation Center Kitchen with Activity Director, Cindy Flagg and made light work of preparing the jam.  The only problem they encountered was that it tasted so good; it never made it to the freezer!  They had enough jam that all those who participated were able to take a jar home.  The remainder of the jam was set out at lunch on Saturday for all to enjoy.

On Monday morning the residents were invited to participate in a special craft project taught by Kendra Peterson of Argos.  Using a dish towel, a dish cloth and a hot pad the group made an angel towel to use as a gift or to hang in their own apartment.  Peterson took the group step-by-step through the process of making the angel.    With the different color combinations of towels and hot pads the angels all turned out beautiful and unique.

To find out upcoming Miller’s events open to the public call 1-574-936-9801 and ask for Anna Corbett or Cindy Flagg.
