04/25/11 Earlier this month students in grades 5 through 8 participated in the 28th Annual Speech Contest of St. Michael School.

The first two rounds were in the various classrooms where students gave a one-minute presentation.  Those moving on to the semi-final rounds had to do a two minute speech.

The final round of judging was done by a panel of seven Speech Team members from Plymouth High School.  The six finalists were judged on volume, diction, expression, time and overall impression.

The six finalists were 7th grader Elizabeth Polstra who’s speech was “School Life,”

6th grader Emme Listenberger  who’s speech was “When I’m an Old Lady”,

5th grader McKenzie Sheets who did “The Story of Goldie Locks and the 3 Bears.”

Also in the top 6 was 8th grader Samantha Grant who did “Graduation Day”

along with 5th grader Ally Dolan who did Chicka  Chicka Boom Boom

and finally 6th grader Mary Blake who did “Jump-In”.

Top winner was Ally Dolan.
