Donald Gene Baker, 65, was born in Plymouth on July 1, 1945. He was the son of Carroll and Clara Rensberger Baker.    Don was living at 315 W. Garro St. and died in St. Joseph Regional Hospital at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 8, 2011.

            Don graduated from LaPaz High School in 1963.  A month later, he joined the United States Navy, serving for four years.         

            After his service, he worked in Virginia for 12 years as a Welder with Energy Flow. He was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church.

            Don is survived by two sons: Timothy Michael Baker, Lynchburg, Virginia, and Stephen Douglas Baker, Madison Heights, Virginia.

            Two brothers, Richard (Delores) Baker, Plymouth, and Robert (Pat) Baker, Plymouth, and a sister, Mary (David) Baker, Portage, survive.

            He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.         

            Donald was preceded in death by both of his parents.

            Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home. 1100 Michigan St., Plymouth on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

            A celebration of Donald’s life will be on Thursday, May 12, 2011; in the funeral home at 10:30 am Father William Kummer will officiate.

            Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Plymouth.

            Military Funeral Rites will be accorded to Don by the Plymouth American Legion, VFW and DAV.
