07/12/11 Last week, Congressman Joe Donnelly announced he will host a Job Seeker Workshop on Tuesday, July 19th in Elkhart.  This event is designed to provide those in north central Indiana looking for work with an opportunity to learn how to improve their resumes, interviewing dos and don’ts, and information on Congressman Joe Donnelly’s 2nd Annual Job Fair in August where they can meet employers who are hiring now.

“I’m proud to host this Job Seeker Workshop to connect Hoosiers looking for work with the experts who can help them with their searches,” said Donnelly. “I will continue to work hard to help Hoosiers get back to work—whether it is by hosting events in Indiana like this workshop or by supporting job-creating legislation in Congress such as my AMERICA Works Act, which would better connect skilled workers with employers.  I hope that attendees of the workshop will find these skills helpful and can put them to use at my job fair in August.”

In addition to resume and interviewing tips, Donnelly’s Job Seeker Workshop will feature four break-out sessions:

  • Veterans: Re-entering the Job Force After Serving Your Country
  • Finding a Job in Indiana’s Dynamic Manufacturing Industry
  • Marketing Yourself for a Professional Career
  • Technology and Job Hunting: Tips for Navigating Your Job Search on the Internet

On August 16th, Congressman Donnelly will be hosting his 2nd Annual Job Fair in South Bend.  Both the Job Seeker Workshop and Job Fair are free and open to the public.  Businesses interested in participating in Donnelly’s August Job Fair can email Donnelly.JobFair@mail.house.gov for more information.
