01/21/11 Wednesday, Congressman Joe Donnelly voted against H.R. 2, which would repeal the health care reform law enacted last year.  He released the following statement:

“I’m disappointed that Republicans in Congress are spending time pushing a bill that has no chance of becoming law,” said Donnelly.  “We should be using this time to instead focus on creating jobs and improving our economy.

The health care law isn’t perfect and I stand ready to work with my Republican colleagues to improve it.  But, it is also true that the health care law includes numerous good provisions and is already helping Hoosiers.  Seniors are paying less for prescription drugs and children with preexisting conditions like diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis now have health coverage for the first time.  Repealing the health care law would undo these benefits and negatively impact millions of lives across the country.”
