02/18/11 Because of a conflict the Chamber’s seminar on “The need for a Trained Workforce for the Jobs of Tomorrow” has been moved to next month.

During the Community Conversation on Economic Development held in November 2010, participants identified the need for a longer-term focus on the connection between education and economic development and noted this as a challenge for all of Marshall County.

Dr. Ronald May, president of Ancilla College, will address Chamber and community members regarding the need for a trained workforce for the jobs of tomorrow in Marshall County on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Chamber office.  Topics may include increasing skills-based training opportunities, strategies to reduce “brain drain,” promoting paths to careers locally for college graduates, and improving the use of technology in the classroom.
