05/16/11 Marshall County Police Officer Nick Laffoon investigated a two vehicle accident on U.S. 30 at Gumwood Road on Thursday afternoon.
21 year old Nathaniel Mosco of Valparaiso was traveling west on US 30 in the passing lane in a 2000 Toyota Minivan. The driver of a 2011 Toyota Tundra was also traveling west on 30 pulling a trailer. He told Officer Laffoon that he observed Mosco’s vehicle begin to drift from the passing lane into the driver’s land behind him near the trailer. Although the driver of the Toyota began to speed up to avoid a collision, but Mosco struck the trailer. After the collision the minivan lost control, went into the median and rolled over.
Nathaniel Mosco was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital and then airlifted to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was reported to only have minor injuries.
The Marshall County Police Department was assisted at the scene by Bourbon Fire, EMS, and Police.
