02/01/11 County Police are investigating damage to a cemetery at Hawthorn and 5th Road in Bremen.
Sometime during the overnight hours of Friday, January 28th and Saturday, January 29th an unknown person or persons entered Ewald Cemetery, also known as Little Egypt by disassembling a section of fence on the north side of the cemetery. They then walked through the cemetery and pushed over tombstones damaging them. It also appeared the subjects attempted to push over other stones, however they were unsuccessful.
Matt Brown with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this cemetery mischief where the loss is estimated to be $2500 or more. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department.
