04/08/11  In celebration of National Library Week, April 10th through the 16th, the Plymouth Public Library will be accepting an alternative to cash for overdue fines.

Food for Fines will benefit the local Food Pantry at the Neighborhood Center. Patrons who have overdue fines can donate items.  One item donated equals $1 being taken off of the patron’s overdue fine record.  All items must be new and unopened.  No expired items can be accepted.

The Food Pantry has requested items such as peanut butter and jelly, tuna, dinner kits, macaroni and cheese, breakfast food, pasta and sauce, beef stew, protein items, canned meals, meal helpers, canned fruit and juice, laundry soap, bar soap, and hygiene items.

Don’t have library fines?  You can replace your library card for FREE during the entire week.  You can also check out all DVDs for FREE!
