01/05/11 Hoosiers in Senate District 5 can share their views on various legislative matters by completing a survey from State Sen. Ed Charbonneau. The Valparaiso lawmaker said input from constituents helps him better represent citizens and make important decisions on budget, education, economic development, job creation, local government reform and social issues.
“As an elected official, it is my duty to gauge the will of the people,” Charbonneau said. “I can better represent area residents by knowing their opinions on legislative proposals. While people will not always agree on every important matter, we can always strive to find common ground and work to do what is best for Indiana.”
Many residents are finding condensed surveys in their mailboxes. Additional questions are online at www.in.gov/senator.charbonneau.
Charbonneau said Hoosiers who visit his website can also sign up to receive online updates.
“The more we communicate, the better equipped our state will be in addressing and solving problems,” Charbonneau said. “Periodic legislative messages that are delivered straight to an e-mail account help people stay informed and engaged. It’s also an easy way to be linked directly to future surveys.”
