12/05/11 It’s Christmas time and the Plymouth Park Department is ready!  On December 1, a switch was flipped to light up Centennial Park for the holidays. Many hours were spent by park employees to have all of decorations in place. Citizens are encouraged to take a drive through the park in the evening with their families and enjoy the many handmade decorations and lights.

For the seventh year, the Plymouth Park Department will be helping to deliver letters to Santa. A drop box to collect the letters is located in a big red mailbox just off of Michigan Street, just north of the Skate Park. In order to get them to the North Pole in time for Santa to write back, they are asking that letters are received on or before December 22. Since Santa has a lot to remember at this time of year, letters must have a return address included.

On Friday, December 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Plymouth Park Department will be hosting a special time for kids and their families to visit with Santa at the Conservation Clubhouse.  The evening includes sleigh rides, cookies, hot cocoa, and carolers. The event is sponsored by Centier Bank.

The Park Department will again host a very special time with Santa at the Conservation Clubhouse on Sunday, December 18 at 4 PM. Santa will arrive with gifts, parents must supply and keep under $20 value. Cost for this afternoon of fun is $10 per child. You must have reservations for this visit and forms are available at the Park office. Reservations and wrapped gift must be turned into park office by Wednesday, December 14th. For more information contact Officer Manager, Jenny Sickmiller at 936-2876 or parkoffice@plymouthin.com.  A special thank you goes to First Federal Savings Bank for underwriting this event.
