02/03/11 The Marshall County Church Orchestra has started their 2011 concert season by taking part in the recent open house featuring Rachel’s Home.  A small ensemble from the orchestra performed at the open house.  Rachel’s Home is a non-profit Christian maternity home for pregnant teens and adults.

Orchestra Director Don Harness is excited about the 2011 concert season. In the past summer concerts have been at Plymouth’s Centennial Park.  Through a brain-storming session with orchestra members Harness has decided to make some changes.

“We are a county orchestra,” stated Harness.  “While many of our members are from Plymouth there are others from Argos, Culver, Bourbon and even other counties.  It is time for the Orchestra to ‘hit the road’ as they say”.

The Orchestra plans to keep their schedule of the second Sunday of the month during June, July, August and September; but they will be playing different venues in Marshall County.  Orchestra PR representative, Cindy Flagg is currently working on the schedule.  If your town is interested in booking the Marshall County Church Orchestra for an outdoor summer concert please call Flagg at 574-952-3661.

Anyone interested in playing with the orchestra should feel free to attend rehearsal on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at the R.E.M.C. building located at 11299 12th Road Plymouth, In. For directions or further information call Harness at 574-936-7357.
