03/11/11 Miller’s Senior Living Community held their seventh annual Mardi Gras celebration Tuesday evening in the Oak Hill Café.  Staff and volunteers made the evening a huge success with a wonderful buffet of Cajun food and lots of action and music.  A Dixieland band made up of members of the Marshall County Church Orchestra played throughout the evening sharing popular tunes such as “When The Saints, Go Marching In” and “Basin Street Blues”.

Once again the Mardi Gras jesters were on hand to pass out beads and to keep the party lively.  A Mardi Gras trivia game was played during the course of the evening and the winner was guest, Helen Deziel of Plymouth.

The jesters posed for pictures with many of the residents and guests.  The jesters also led the dietary staff in a parade around the café as the crowd applauded their delicious buffet.  At 6:00 p.m. Anna Corbett, Miller’s Marketing Director announced and crowned the 2011 Mardi Gras King and Queen.  Accepting the crowns were Ned Meckstroth as King and Mary Jane Yeo as Queen.  Their duties for their 2011 reign will include representing Miller’s in the 2011 Blueberry Festival Parade.
