07/25/11 Early Friday morning the Marshall County Coroner’s Office investigated a death that has been partially attributable to the areas record high temperatures.

56 year old James W. Walker of the 700 block of Magnetic Park Way in Plymouth was transported by Plymouth Paramedics from his residence to the Emergency Department of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.   Mr. Walker died at 2:48 AM shortly after arrival.

Deputy Coroner Les Trump conducted the initial investigation and ordered an autopsy be preformed.

Friday afternoon the autopsy was conducted by a forensic pathologist and it was determined that Mr. Walker’s previous medical conditions in combination with the recent record temperatures were the preliminary cause of death.

Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger, who attended the autopsy, stated that Mr. Walker’s death was due to natural causes.

The Coroner’s Office wishes to remind particularly those with existing medical conditions to exercise caution during days and nights with high temperatures and humidity.
