01/12/11 Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter has been awarded Bronze and Silver Certificates in Advanced City Leadership from the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) –IU  School of Public and Environmental Affairs (IU SPEA) Mayors Institute.  To earn this status, over the past two years Mayor Senter has completed six, day and a half courses geared exclusively towards the continuing education of Indiana’s municipal CEOs.

The Mayors Institute is a quarterly series that began in November 2008.  Participants acquire practical tools for meeting real-life challenges as IU SPEA faculty, IACT staff, fellow mayors and guest speakers lead the group through advanced problem-solving exercises.  IACT and the executive education program at IU SPEA are proud to work with mayors from all around the state for the betterment of Indiana’s cities.

Mayor Senter has also been named by IACT to chair the Education Committee for 2011. The purpose of this committee is to address the continuing education needs of Indiana’s local government officials.  “In other words, this committee will be lining-up the speakers for the many conferences and seminars that IACT has throughout the year,” Senter said.

The Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) is a coalition of municipal officials who seek to improve the quality of life in Indiana through effective government, and is a member of the National League of Cities.
