Patrolman Cooper of the Marshall County Police Department stayed busy early Friday, May 27th at around 1:45am Cooper made a routine traffic stop on US 30 east of Oak Road. Upon investigation it was determined that the driver, 26 year old Samuel Rice of Bellevus, Nebraska was in possession of Marijuana, as well as paraphernalia. Mr. Rice was transported to St. Joseph hospital in Plymouth and it was also determined that he was under the influence of a controlled substance . Mr. Rice was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail for operating while intoxicated, possession of marijuana , and possession of paraphernalia. Rice has a cash bond of $1000.00, and is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on June 28th at 8:30am.

Within a couple hours later Cooper again made another traffic stop at around 6:04am at the intersection of Michigan Road and 7B Road. It was determined that driver Timothy Elsea of Plymouth was driving while suspended with a prior charge. Mr. Elsea was taken into custody and booked into the Marshall County Jail for Driving While Suspended/Prior with a $750.00 cash bond. A scheduled court appearance for Elsea is on June 28th at 8:30am in Marshall County Superior Court #2.
