Miller’s Residents Experiment with Ceamics

November 28, 2011
By

11/29/11 Jackie Owens of Mud Hut Ceramics directed residents of Miller’s Senior Living Community in Plymouth in painting and glazing a beautiful fall-leaf candy dish on Wednesday, Nov. 23.

Karen Hart, owner of Mud Hut Ceramics began her traveling ceramic business while in Colorado.  Upon moving back to Indiana she brought her business with her.  She takes care of the shop in Churubusco and has several employees who travel to senior citizen centers and nursing facilities to bring the crafts to the residents.

Nine residents took part in the class. Although they each used the same color of paint, the choice of the glazing product gave each leaf dish an individual look.  Anyone interested in having Mud Hut Ceramics at their senior center or facility should call Hart at 1-260-799-4404.

Karen Stites commends Dale Bules for being the only man “brave” enough to try out the ceramics class.
