06/30/11 Marshall County Police Department officers issued a total of 117 seat belt citations during the state’s annual Click it or Ticket mobilization, conducted May 20th through June 5.
In all, the agency also issued at total of 186 citations for traffic related offenses such as speeding and license violations. A breakdown of arrests made and citations issued during the 2011 Click It or Ticket It mobilization effort for the county includes:
117 Seatbelt Violations
13 Driving While Suspended or other License Violation
5 Speeding citations
46 Other Traffic Violations and
5 Criminal Misdemeanor Arrests.
“Click It or Ticket It” is an annual enforcement effort supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. In Indiana, more than 260 state and local law enforcement agencies participate in the mobilization, through grants administered by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute’s Traffic Safety division.
