12/27/11 On Thursday, December 22nd, around 7:00 p.m. Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call of a one vehicle accident at the intersection of King and 4th Roads.  Upon arrival, County Officer Bruce Carter spoke with 17 year old Kyle Brockus of Plymouth the driver of the 2000 Ford Taurus.  Brockus stated that he had been traveling westbound on 4th Road and went thru the curve to go south bound on King Road.  Brockus stated that he went off the roadway when he lost control on the wet pavement.  The vehicle went off the right side of the road into a ditch and struck a steel fence post.  An unnamed passenger in the vehicle was transported to a South Bend hospital with a possible broken leg. 

 

Around 6:35 a.m. on Saturday, December 24th a resident in the 18,000 block of State Road 110 called the County to report a crash in from of her home that her mailbox was damaged.  The caller also stated that the driver left the scene in another vehicle leaving his truck in the ditch. 

Arriving on the scene Officer Carter determined that the pickup truck had rolled over once and came to rest on its wheels.  The truck registration was traced back to a farm near Argos.  It was determined that the driver, Freddy Sanchez 34, of Argos was an employee of that farm.  Sanchez told the officer he fell asleep at the wheel. He was charged with Operator Never Licensed and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. 

 

On Saturday, December 24th around 2:20 p.m. County Patrolman Jonathan Bryant conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Queen and 7th Roads.  During the investigation the officer located marijuana in the vehicle.  The driver, 21 year old Lee Morris of Plymouth was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Possession of Marijuana.  The cash bond for Morris was set at $1,000.00.   His bond was paid just a couple of hours later at 4:40 p.m.   Morris is scheduled to appearance in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on January 10th at 8:30am.
