10/27/11 The Plymouth High School  FFA Chapter would like to thank all of their current local sponsors and supporters. Their commitment to the chapter helped the FFA win the $1,500 Chapter Challenge last year.  The chapter used part of those funds last Friday, October 21st, to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. The total cost for some of the members to go was approximately $500 and the chapter didn’t have to pay anything because of the chapter challenge money.  Since attending the National Convention they now have ideas floating around and will be deciding soon what they’d like to do with the rest of the money to help better the chapter.

National Convention took place last Wednesday through Saturday; however the Plymouth FFA Chapter only attended the sessions on Friday. After leaving the school at 4:30 in the morning the members that took the trip down to Indianapolis were greeted with 50,000 blue jackets from around the U.S. plus Puerto Rico. There was a college fair and plenty of extra time allowing FFA chapter members to walk around and scope out some places of interest.   Booths from various agricultural program such as Pioneer, Elanco, Case, Carhartt, and different chapters around the U.S were there too. After spending some time and money in the convention center the chapter went to their session to get rallied up with loud music and the National FFA choir performed some songs. They also heard the farewell message from one of the National officers.

Member of the Plymouth FFA that went included: Jessica Celmer, Tucker Pletcher, Emily Denney, Makayla DePoy, Nondus Day Katelun Hammond, Shelby McGriff, Julia Lipply, Garrett Fox, Danni Letsinger, Megan Snyder, Makayla Fox and Sarah Lindvall
