February 24, 2011

02/25/11 Plymouth High School senior Christina Green will compete in the state round of Poetry Out Loud: National Recitation Contest, held this Saturday, February 26 in Indianapolis.   Christina won the school competition in December with a flawless performance of Martin Espada’s “The Meaning of the Shovel.”   This Saturday, she will compete against twelve other students across Indiana.   Along with “The Meaning of the Shovel” Christina will recite poems “Their Bodies” by David Wagoner and “Revenge” by Letitia Elizabeth Landon.   If she wins the state competition, she will advance to the national round to compete against every state’s winner.
