09/27/11 My husband and I were at the soccer game Thursday night where the mayor had a proclamation and Ounce of Prevention handed over a $4,500 check to Evan Glaub, Kim Nelson and Kathy Record for the Nancy Jaynes Scholarship Fund. It was a Pink, Breast Cancer Awareness Nigh and Tribute to Nancy Jaynes. The whole event was respectful, memorable and countless details just added to the whole evening.
Unfortunately, the Lakeville soccer team did not come to the game with the respect we expected.
There was several incidents were the refs had to stop the game and get control back.
As spectators, we do not know all that happened on the field in the midst of competitive play, aggressive adrenalin, trash talk, etc. But we can attest to the fact PHS soccer players faced great adversity and were tested Thursday night. While the score board showed Lakeville as the winner by numbers, Plymouth was the winner in showing this community what great athletes and gentlemen they are. They played with incredible passion and athletic stamina throughout the whole game, and should hold their heads high, because they where tested and WON. And a great send off to the senior players.
Another reason we really love Plymouth.
