Pilgrims flex offensive muscle in season opening win: 14-10 over South Central

April 6, 2011

Although the game didn’t quite start out the way Head Coach Tony Plothow had hoped for, chasing 5-0 after the first two innings, his Pilgrims woke up the bats with 5 runs combined in the third and fourth innings to climb back into the ballgame.

“We looked like we were playing our first game of the season.  Our defensive mistakes allowed South Central to jump out on us early.  I the fact we showed “No Quit” already this early part of the season.  It’s something we can build off of”, said Coach Plothow.

The “BIG” inning came in the 6th, when Damon Howe’s Grand Slam completed the comeback and eventual lead that never was relinquished from then on as 9 runs crossed for Plymouth.
