It’s as though Plymouth Senior right-hander Ricky Luva is finding his rhythm at a key point of the season. Case in point, a three hit shutout against a talented Northridge Raider team yesterday in a 1-0 win at Bill Nixon Field.
“Ricky has stepped up and been a leader by example. Your right, he looks like he’s getting better in each outing he’s throwing in. It’s funny with Ricky so far, he’s either pitched games when he gives up several hits or pitched two, three, or four hit games shutting out the opponent. In any case, he’s making the big pitch in counts that is getting the job done.”, said Head Coach Tony Plothow.
There wasn’t a lot of offense in this ballgame with only eight hits combined mustered by both teams. Plymouth got their only run in the 5th inning. Raider pitcher Austin Manbit threw a solid game going the distance allowing one run on five hits with a couple of walks.
“Again starting off with a win on another busy week is what we needed. We have Argos Tuesday, Memorial on Wednesday, at Concord on Friday, our tourny on Saturday. We have a lot of baseball, yet, to be played.”, added Plothow.
Next WTCA broadcast will be on Wednesday at Elkart Memorial. Pre-Game Show around 4:50pm.
