Sometimes when your winning you forget how you got there in the first place. The undefeated Plymouth Pilgrims got that reminder Friday night against the Peru Tigers. Senior Ryan McNeal scored a career high 19 points in a 50-40 win for the Pilgrims.
“This was a game we probably needed. Four quarters of “grind-it-out” basketball. Peru is much better than their last game indicated, and we knew that going in. We knew the Travis Smith was someone we had to key on. He was tough to stop all night long.”, said Plymouth Coach Ryan Bales.
Rebounding was a key heading into the nights contest against Peru. By games end, Plymouth won that stat 34-29, specifically 15-8 offensively.
“We had to improve our rebounding if we planned on winning tonight. Again, we got some key ones in the second half. But we still need to improve in that department.”, added Bales.
Plymouth gapped the game by mid-fourth quarter at the free throw line where they finished 20/30 on the night.
Plymouth’s next game will be Friday night at Northwood. Pre-Game Show around 7pm.
