“I thought our kids play a tough four quarters of basketball tonight. Seen some things we need to work on like the rebounding, I think we really did well following our misses. That’s correctable.”, said Head Coach Ryan Bales of Plymouth.
The rebounding stat was the really the only stat Plymouth lost in (32-25) by games end. Plymouth shot an impressive 49% (20/41) by the end of the game.
Turnovers were another key factor in the win. Plymouth caused 25 St. Joe turnovers, scoring 27 points off of them.
“We like to pressure the ball. Good things happen when we put pressure on the ball. I think it showed tonight against a team that was playing their very first game of the season.”, added Bales.
Senior John Ruff had a career game performance, scoring 14 pts and collecting 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals. Sophmore Mack Mercer added 14 more points to his season total now of 52 pts in three games.
We had a lot of kids step up tonight and perform well. This is what it’s going to take to win ballgames with this group…everyone contributing during a four quarter game. I’m proud of them.”, said Bales.
