02/09/11 Seniors at Argos High School are required to create and implement a “Senior Project” as part of their graduation requirements.

Eric Stockman, Argos Class of 2011 has decided to have a Pill & Medical Drop on Saturday, February 19th.  The event will take place at Argos High School from 9 a.m. till noon.

Did you know that many times when you dispose of unwanted medications in your garbage it ends up in the hands of children?  Statistics show that the amount of children addicted to prescription medications is growing at an alarming rate.  Stockman said, “An estimated 4.7 million people used pain relievers non-medically; 1.8 million used tranquilizers; 904,000 used stimulants, and 234,000 used sedatives.”

This pill drop on Saturday, February 19th will allow citizens to dispose of their medication correctly.  Citizens are invited to bring in any unwanted or unused prescription or over-the-counter drugs, and medical supplies from 9 a.m. to noon and dispose of them safely and correctly.  This event will be supervised by local law enforcement officers.
