Jordan Scheetz pitched an inspired 5 innings of shutout baseball against NLC foe Concord, and went the distance allowing only one run on 5 hits in route to 2-1 win over the Minutemen. Jordan’s opponent Concord Senior, Seth Huxford, also went the distance, pitching 7 innings of baseball, giving up the game winning hit to junior Chase Peters who singled in the run with two outs in the bottom of the 7th .
“Once again, a great pitching performance this time by Jordan (Scheetz). We took advantage some Concord mistakes and had another key hit when needed. These kids are starting to learn about themselves on the field. I’ve been real happy about their approach before a ballgame.”, said Coach Tony Plothow.
Scheetz’s complete game was the second one this week performed by the Pilgrim staff in the midst of a busy schedule.
“Getting these two performances by Luva on Monday and Scheetz today, are big for us. We are on the road for the next two days and then a Saturday contest vs Laporte. Getting performances like this is going to be key”, added Plothow.
