April 28, 2011

04/29/11 Plymouth Police Investigator Ted Brown is investigating an incident that happened early Wednesday morning.  Sometime between the hours of 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Wednesday a male subject was found on Western Avenue.  It appeared that he had jumped off the U.S. 30 overpass onto Western Avenue.

44 year old Brian Kersey apparently attempted suicide by jumping off the bridge.  Officer Brown confirmed that a note was found in Kersey’s residence that let police know he was suicidal.

Kersey was airlifted to the trauma unit at Memorial Hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition with several life threatening injuries.   Police said the jump was 27 feet 11 inches.

What purpose is there in running this story? You should be ashamed of yourself for printing this story. That man is someone’s son, or brother, or uncle and the media sees fit to expose his problems to the world. Some things should just not be reported out of respect for the family and this is one of them. My prayers go out to him and his family.
