09/14/11 The Plymouth Community Youth Orchestra performed on the Michigan Stage last Monday, September 5, during the Blueberry Festival.

The PCYO always performed on the Jefferson Stage in the past, but they’ve outgrown it! This year the big stage was filled with 51 string players.  The audience was entertained for an hour with songs including Surprise Symphony, Jurassic Park, and Swallow Tail Jig.

Four members put down their instruments and sang while the rest of the orchestra played Old MacDonald Had a Farm. The audience cue cards were a big hit!

Another big surprise was the comical performance of Concerto for Triangle, featuring a triangle soloist. Each time he was cued to play, the soloist was busy with other things like polishing the triangle, blowing his nose and answering his cell phone! He was finally ready and played the last ‘ding’ of the song.
