The Plymouth Pilgrims were looking to stop a 3 game losing streak at the Harold Weinberg Gym in Knox last Friday night. Instead missed opportunities led to a 40-38 loss on the road.
“This one stings. As we talked about before this season, every possession now becomes crucial for us during this losing streak. We don’t want it that way, but that’s were we’re at, if we plan to start winning ballgames.”, said Varsity Asst. Tony Plothow. “I thought our kids played very hard tonight. But one break down, one poor shot selection or untimely turnover is costing us the ballgame. We may have played a good 30 minutes of basketball, but it’s the 2 minutes we don’t that is getting us.”
Plymouth had their chances in the final 30 seconds with two possessions but a missed shot by Houston Hodges with 7 seconds and inability to gather in an offensive rebound kept the Pilgrims from tying the score.
Plymouth (5-14) now faces John Glenn (10-8) Tuesday night at the Rock. It will be Senior night. WTCA broadcast begins at 7PM.
