11/15/11 The first-ever Plymouth strings concert was a huge success! The program, held on November 8, featured all five Plymouth student orchestras.
The PCYO Concert orchestra took the stage first playing one of their favorite songs, Can-Can by Offenbach.
Later, the Lincoln Junior High orchestra performed a more sophisticated arraignment of Can-Can. It was an excellent representation of how far string players can progress in just a few short years of practice!
The PCYO Symphony orchestra put their bows down and played pizzicato style, by plucking the strings for the spooky song, Sneaking Suspicion.
The PCYO chamber ensemble performed the complex but fun, Beethoven Inc.
They were followed by Plymouth High School Chamber orchestra’s A Lively Dance by Mozart.
The night ended with the explosive and powerful song, The Rites of Tamburo. This exciting program finale was performed by the Plymouth Full Orchestra featuring members of the PHS concert band, PHS chamber orchestra, PCYO chamber ensemble, and a few PCYO symphony members.
