10/14/11 One hundred twenty-two (122) high school marching bands will participate at the ISSMA Regional Marching Festival to be held this Saturday, October 15th at four regional sites.  These Regional sites will be held at Chesterton High School (Class C & A), Lafayette Jefferson High School (Class D & B), Center Grove High School/Greenwood (Class C & A), and Evansville Central High School (Class D & B).  The 122 bands qualified for regional status when they received a Gold Rating at one of the seven District sites on October 1.  Each band is entered in one of four classes A, B, C, D according to school size.

The Pride of Plymouth Marching Band will travel to Lafayette Jefferson High School for the Class B Contest.  Their performance is scheduled for 6:30.  Other area bands participating in the Class B Contest at Lafayette include Northridge, Concord, and Goshen.  Bremen High School’s band will compete in the Class D competition.

The Chesterton Regional will see Northwood, John Glenn and Knox in Class C and Elkhart Memorial and Warsaw in Class A.

The Pride of Plymouth will begin rehearsal at 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning.  They will depart for Lafayette Jefferson at 1:45 with arrival scheduled for 3:45.  They will begin the warm-up process at 5:21 and perform at 6:35.  The awards ceremony is 9 p.m. with the busses and band arriving back in Plymouth at 11:30 p.m.

The Regional Festival, administered by the Indiana State School Music Association, Inc. (ISSMA), will determine the eighty (80) bands for the Semi-State Marching Festival on Saturday, October 22, which will be held at four Central Indiana sites.
