01/31/11 The Marshall County Purdue Extension Office and Farm Bureau Insurance are holding a Purdue Farm Outlook Meeting on Friday, February 4rh.  The event will be held in the Extension Office room 304 of the County Building at 112 West Jefferson Street in Plymouth.  The meeting starts at noon with lunch provided.

At 12:30, Dean Payne with Farm Bureau Insurance Ag Specialist will provide an update on crop insurance.  At 1 p.m. the featured speaker, Chris Hurt, Purdue Agriculture Economist, will provide the current snapshot of the farm economy for 2011, address marketing opportunities, and how currently profitability looks for 20111 and beyond.

Chris will address land values along with grain prices.  Also, livestock markets are moving higher as well.  What does this mean for agriculture in 2011 and the agriculture industry as we project toward 2012.

Mr. Hurt will provide an excellent presentation sharing drivers of commodity prices and will answer your questions.
