6/10/11 On Wednesday night the Marshall County Democratic Party unanimously elected Ryan Ripley to serve as the new chairman of the party. In April of this year, former party chairman Larry Balmer resigned to commit more time to his family and veteran’s issues.
In a brief statement, Ripley had the following to say about his new position:
“We all greatly appreciate the leadership that Larry Balmer provided over the past two years and the efforts of Michelle Livinghouse as acting chairman during the transition process.
I look forward to working with the community on ways to move the party forward with a fresh start and new outlook. I am very optimistic about the upcoming city elections and look forward to the opportunity to support our county, state, and federal candidates during next year’s election cycle.”
