05/12/11  Riverside Intermediate Computer Applications teacher, Amy Gerard, received a notification last week from the Federal Bureau of Investigation that Riverside’s sixth grade students scored the highest in the nation on the April edition of the FBI-SOS Internet Safety Challenge.

Students take a pre test and then spent the whole month of April learning about internet safety.  Following the completion of the unit students are then tested.  This year 275 6th graders participated and Riverside kids were top of the list in the nation.

For their student’s outstanding accomplishments, Riverside Intermediate will be presented with the FBI-SOS National Trophy.  An FBI Agent from Indianapolis office will visit at the school later this month to present the trophy and talk with students about the FBI.  They will also have their class picture on the FBI website.

Gerard said, “At Plymouth we value technology and want to teach our students safety while using the internet.”
