“I’ve been waiting to get out and coach these great kids. They have really put forth an effort in understanding how I like to coach this game. They’re excited. I’m excited. The community seems to be excited as well.”, offered Bales.
This years Pilgrims have 5 Seniors that will look to provide leadership and team chemistry. Ryan McNeil, Conner Flynn, John Ruff, Kyle Kaser and Hayden Skirvin will be the senior guidence.
The junior core will feature Gabe Vervynkt, Joe Knapp, David Lee, Ike Kastner and Kyser McCrammer.
Two sophmores, Tom Felke and Mack Mercer will be heavily counted on in providing minutes as well.
Coach Bales indicated this team is developing toughness. They have practiced with an unselfish mentality and are working hard leading up to tonights game with Triton.
“I really like this group. We will be going through some maturation issues early I think. But once we get that taken care of, I feel this team will be an overachieving group! “, added Bales. “I also feel this team can get some wins they’re are not expected to get. If that happens we really could be on our way to something special. But again, I’m thinking it will take a little time. If it doesn’t….good for us!”
What about Triton?
“They are good again this year. The (Clay) Yeo is back. He is a solid player on both offense and defense. He’s a aggressive on the boards as well. This year they have a compliment to Yeo, a sophmore transfer from Tippy Valley named Tanner Shepherd. Very athletic. Nice shooter. I think when these two get a few more games between them, it will be really tough to beat the Trojans.
KEYS TO THE GAME: Rebounding will probably “THE” key for both teams, moreso us (Plymouth). Limiting turnovers will be the other factor in this game.
Join Tony Ross & John Scott for all the action LIVE from Triton. Pre-Game around 7pm.
