January 19, 2011

01/20/11 Mark Senter plans to announce his bid for re-election as Mayor of the City of Plymouth this week.  He is scheduled to address the Marshall County Republicans at their monthly breakfast meeting at Christo’s Family Restaurant, 2227 North Michigan Street at 7:00 AM on Thursday, January 20th.  He will announce his candidacy at the meeting.

Senter is in his last year of his first term as mayor.

Will the mayor’s platform include raising garbage rates even more as well as higher water rates? Will the mayor be proposing more dog ordinances or will he be proposing some new cat ordinances next? How about some more tax abatements for family and friends on the Council? These could all be platforms the mayor could base his re-election bid on. Unfortunately, I don’t think any of these will be part of his re-election campaign. How about working to bring good paying jobs to the City and make some progress in bringing down the ever-increasing unemployment rate in the County? Talk is cheap, now let’s see some action!
