06/13/11 Gina Young, Recreation Director for the Plymouth Park Department and Anna Corbett of Miller’s Senior Living Community have announced the second annual Senior Classic Games.  The games are open to any man or woman who are 50 years of age or older.  The games will be held in Plymouth’s Centennial Park and participating sports businesses July 5 – 8.

Corbett and Young made an announcement about the games at a senior event held recently at Miller’s.  Young explained the mission of the Centennial Park Senior Classic Games is a community program embracing healthy lifestyles for adults 50 years of age and older through fitness and sport. Corbett encouraged seniors to sign-up for the different events which include a three mile bike race, horseshoes, doubles and singles tennis, bowling, men and women’s golf, a basketball free throw contest and a cornhole contest. 

The closing ceremony will be held on Thursday, July 7 at 8:00 p.m. with the presentation of gold, silver and bronze medals to winners.  The Sentimental Journey’s of Bourbon will end the event with a concert of big band music.
