09/22/11 A police chase that began in Starke County Tuesday afternoon ended in Marshall County with the suspect’s vehicle being involved in an accident.
About 4:15 p.m. (CST) a Starke County Detective received a call in regards to a possible intoxicated driver in a red Jeep leaving the area of 900 E and 300 N in Starke County. The detective was in the area and noticed a vehicle matching the description that had committed several moving violations. As the officer attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle the Jeep failed to stop and the pursuit began.
The detective pursued the vehicle from 150 N to State Road 23 then to Plymouth and on to Culver. The detective finally was able to get the vehicle stopped after a minor accident in Marshall County on Tulip Road just north of 14B Road.
Kristy Jimerson was arrested and charged with resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, reckless driving and driving while suspended.
