03/09/11 Starke United announced today an opportunity for not for profit organizations within Starke County. The total grant dollars have not been announced.
“We are pleased once again to offer a grant opportunity. With a slowed economy, these funds are needed more than ever,” said Julie Dessauer, Starke United Executive Director. “There is no better way for us to show support for our community than to assist the local agencies which serve to improve and assist Starke County.” Funds are raised though the Starke United annual campaign and donations which are collected all year.
In 2010, Starke United was able to grant a total of $20,000. Those funds were granted where the greatest impact was seen for the community. A total of fourteen organizations were granted funds. Examples of those agencies granted included: Love Inc, Starke County Youth Club, Community Services, CADA, CASA, and The Caring Place amongst others.
Applications can be found on the Starke United web site at www.starkeunited.org or at the Starke United office: 52 W Lake St Knox, Indiana. All applications must be returned to Starke United no later than March 28, 2011 to be considered.
