Mr. Oliver,

She has made some very valid points. School districts had already been under duress with decreased funding with increased expectations. Test results are not the entire responsibility of the teacher alone, as he/she cannot control the other 16 hours of the students' life. Let's not forget the ever decreasing funding for the public schools before these vouchers have even taken effect.

Please, remember: Not all Republicans are good; not all Democrats are good. Not all Republicans are bad; not all Democrats are bad.

If I were in a restaurant ordering a salad, I would be extremely unhappy if all I received was lettuce - even if I could get some dressing on the side.

Thankfully this is the last week for the current session on the Indiana General Assembly. Ms. Dembowski, when not on strike for five weeks, has treated us with her weekly Whine of the Week.

She doesn’t like Governor Daniels: Check
She doesn’t like Republicans: Check
She doesn’t like majority legislation: Check
She doesn’t like Special Interest groups: Check
Her own sponsors, Unions, are not Special Interest groups: Check
She insists on calling teacher union interests student interests: Check
Since becoming a minority caucus member she has done absolutely nothing but moan about the majority: Check
She wants you to believe that her weekly report is her own writing but, in fact, is written by her caucus propaganda specialist: Check
Marshall County candidates running against her have always received more Marshall County votes than she has: Check
District 17 is gerrymandered to favor her: Check
She has been redistricted out of her own District 17 and will no longer represent Marshall County: Check
Time for change: Checkmate
