08/15/11 Manufacturing jobs are coming to Plymouth thanks to a Nebraska based company expanding in the Shamrock Homes facility on Markley Drive.  Stone Creek Homes, a housing manufacturer already has the first two units under construction.

Friday morning a press conference was held to introduce Stone Creek to the community.  Dave Ferguson, co-owner and 1970 PHS graduate said he was happy to be back in Plymouth and in the Shamrock facility.

Ferguson worked in the plant during his summers and then after graduation he was promoted to controller.  He had much admiration for Pat Flynn the founder of Shamrock Homes.  He thanked the Flynn family for their commitment to the community.

The factory is already in production of 4-man units that will be transported to North Dakota to be used on the oil fields.  The units are basically the size of a single wide mobile home with 4 apartments, each complete with full bath, kitchenette and a shared laundry.  The full order is for 100 of these units.

Ferguson said he was surprised when they held an application day for jobs.  Over 400 people applied for positions.  Currently 15 employees have been hired and the company is actively looking for 15 more but it is anticipated that their staff will increase to 60 or 70 when they are at full production.

Dan Flynn from Shamrock Homes will serve at operational manager for Stone Creek Homes.
