11/02/11 The Marshall County Church Orchestra continues to rehearse for their annual concert & dessert event which takes place each November at Christo’s Banquet Center in Plymouth.  This year’s concert is titled “Festival of Carols” and will include instrumental, vocal, and sign language.  Carols will also be acted out through dance provided by LifePlex Dance Academy.

Orchestra leader Don Harness is particularly looking forward to several songs this year that are challenging for the orchestra yet will be fun for the listener.  “The Twelve Days Of Christmas” is a fun song that will have the audience listening for particular instrumental sections for the different “days”.  “The Night Before Christmas” is an interesting mix of narration and  instrumental music while the percussion section fills in all the subtle sounds such as “the prancing and pawing of each little hoof” and the sleigh bells.   The Festival of Carols also includes moving traditional music such as “Away In The Manger” and “Silent Night” and more.

Tickets for the concert and dessert are going fast.  You may purchase tickets from any orchestra member or by calling

Don Harness at 574-936-7357 or Cindy Flagg at 574-952-3661.
