Dockery and his K-9 partner Hondo were honored by the DFCC with the Excellence in Criminal Justice Award. Dockery a twelve year veteran of the state police has spent the last four years working alongside his K-9 partner Hondo to help decrease the amount of drugs trafficked and sold in northern Indiana.
Dockery was recognized for his dedication, attention to detail, and exemplary work ethic. “His partnership with Hondo has truly impacted our community,” commented DFCC Executive Director Stacy Birk. During their four year partnership Dockery and Hondo have been responsible for 634 drug arrests and the seizure of 1,629 pounds of marijuana and 107 pounds of cocaine.
The state police K-9 program has proven to be a tremendous service to the citizens of Indiana. The program, which began in 2006, is administered at little cost to the taxpayers, commented Dockery. The programs expenses are met through community donations and organizations, deferral funds from local courts, and support from many of Indiana’s County Prosecutors.
