GRAND RAPIDS, MI â€“ The Ancilla College menâ€™s basketball struggled to take care of the ball in a 91-64 loss at MCCAA Western Conference opponent Grand Rapids Community College on Wednesday.
The Chargers (4-17, 3-10 MCCAA Western) committed 23 turnovers while Grand Rapids (10-11, 5-8 MCCAA Western) had only seven on the night â€“ including zero turnovers in the first half.
â€śWe turned it over way too much,â€ť said Ancilla menâ€™s basketball coach Greg Neeley.Â â€śWe cannot afford so many empty possessions and expect to still win.â€ť
Joby Renbarger led Ancilla with 17 points.Â Antonio Cannon added 13 points while Michael Hornback chipped in with 12.
Jason Pratt led Grand Rapids with 21 points.
â€śGrand Rapids is a disciplined team, and we were not very good at the details tonight,â€ť said Neeley.Â â€śThey took advantage of our mistakes at both ends of the floor.â€ť
The Chargers resume play on Feb. 19 when they host MCCAA Western Conference rivals Kellogg Community College at the LifePlex in Plymouth.Â Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EST.
