04/08/11 The celebration of 50 years continues for the United Way of Marshall County.

A year of celebration of the historic landmark for the organization that has made a difference in the area will continue with the United Way annual meeting on Tuesday April 12.   United Way will recognize all the past chairman of of the organization’s annual fund drive and conduct the regular yearly business such as nominating and electing officers. Then the party starts.

At the conclusion of the yearly business, United Way of Marshall County in conjunction with Encore Performing Arts invites the community to enjoy a night with Marshall County’s own Denver Bierman and some members from his band, the Mile High Orchestra.

Bierman has toured the world, recently returning from a tour in the former Soviet Union. The group broke onto the international scene with their final three appearance in Fox TV’s American Idol spin off The Next Great American Band.

Bierman will take the stage at the Plymouth High School Auditorium at 7 p.m with their unique brand of big band music and fun with a special reception after the show to meet and greet the band. Tickets for the show are just $10.

United Way has even more reason to celebrate as a successful campaign met the goal of $450,000. Member agencies of the United Way help meet the needs of all residents of Marshall County by providing essential services.
