09/20/11 The annual Classic Car Cruise-In brought to a close a week of festive events at Miller’s Senior Living Community.  While celebrating National Assisted Living Week residents, staff, family and friends enjoyed many fun and educational activities at Miller’s.  The Cruise-In is always an exceptional time.

DJ for the evening was Quentin Flagg who welcomed the crowd and kept the evening lively.  During the cruise-in spectators could participate in contests, eat, play corn hole, enjoy music and conversation and shop for homemade chocolates at Kelly’s Kandy Kitchen.  Leisurely strolling around the parking lot to see the cars Flagg invited everyone to vote for their favorite car.  Every half hour those who wished joined in a contest.

Contest winners were as follows:  Bubble Gum Blowing Contest, Torrie Crowder;

Twist Contest, Makayla Wilson;

and Best 50’s Costume, Autumn Wilson.

The Cruise-In ended with a special performance by Flagg and Anna Corbett announcing the winner for Best of Show.

The trophy was awarded to Terry Harrell of Plymouth.  Harrell entered his 1965 Chevrolet Impala convertible.

National Assisted Living Week is celebrated each year across the nation the second week of September.  Corbett and staff thanked everyone for participating and invited them to mark the date on their calendars for 2012.
