04/07/11 Knitting and crocheting got a bit easier this weekend thanks to a brand new store in Plymouth.

The Yarn Loft held their Grand Opening last Saturday with dozens and dozens of knitters getting their first look at all the merchandise in the new store located at 214 West Washington Street, across the street from the Plymouth Police Department.

Two friends, local attorney Holli Shorter-Pifer and former Anderson, Indiana music teacher Jodi Kallenberg both passionate about knitting joined forces to open the store.

Holli is a livelong knitter with a passion for fine yarns.  She loves to make a variety of projects from mittens to socks and sweaters. Holli is married to Steve and they have three daughters, Corbin, Cameron and Carson.  They all love to help out in the store.

Jodi learned how to knit when she was 7 years old, but started knitting seriously in college.  She loves to knit things for her family and especially likes knitting baby items for friends.  Married to Daniel, a teacher in Argos, they have two sons, Freddy and Zeke.

The Yarn Loft is a specialty yarn store dedicated to providing Plymouth and the surrounding areas with quality yarns and patterns.  They are also offering a wide variety of classes and have an extensive pattern and book library for their shopper’s convenience.

The Yarn Loft will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 1 to 6, Thursday from 10 to 8 and Friday from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 10 to 3.
